WCAC Head Start Facility

Location: Webster, MA

Worcester Community Action Council
Architect: Lamoureux Pagano Associates

Madigan transformed the former Webster Senior Center into a bright, modern learning space for the non-profit Worcester Community Action Council. The renovation reworked the entire layout to include four classrooms, a teaching kitchen, community room, and administrative offices. Exterior upgrades, including new windows, doors, and roofing, tightened the building envelope and improved energy performance. Site work included soil remediation, a new playground, and accessible walkways.

Behind the walls, the building was fully upgraded with new HVAC systems and digital controls, along with complete replacements of electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems. The toughest part was installing a new elevator inside the existing structure. That meant cutting through the basement slab and supporting the building while work moved forward. It was tight, technical work, handled safely. Today, the space supports more than 70 students and gives the community a strong, lasting place for early education.
