The Beechwood Hotel, an independent upscale boutique hotel located in Worcester, is the only AAA Four-Diamond rated property in Central Massachusetts.  Madigan is proud to have been involved in several projects for the hotel over many years.  Each detail at the property is an expression of the owners’ personal desire to provide a truly unique guest experience.  Madigan worked closely with the design team and ownership to, in many cases, design and build spaces around certain items in the owners’ antique and artwork collection. Blending modern code compliant spaces with antique millwork and building components, and stained-glass centerpieces proved to be very challenging.

The addition of a ballroom and a chapel required the construction team to piece together a 100-year-old chapel (which had been dismantled and removed from a local hospital) inside of a newly constructed building envelope. Antique truss components, backlit stained glass windows, and ornate millwork was refurbished and reinstalled in the newly constructed building addition. Guestrooms were renovated and updated with significant custom millwork components and high-end finishes.  The lobby was completely renovated and an iconic center stairway with stained glass ceiling was added, along with a library anchored by an antique fireplace. Retail and executive office spaces were repurposed as an executive-level guest suite wing with a fitness center.
