Ross/Rectrix Aviation Various Projects

Location: Various
Client:
 Ross Aviation (Previously Rectrix Aviation)
Architect: Various

Madigan worked for Rectrix Aviation to build their new hangar at the Worcester Airport, and then followed up that project after Rectrix’s acquisition by Ross Aviation to build their new fuel farm, also at the Worcester Airport.  The new hangar project included the construction of a 20,000 sf heated hangar space with 2 large rolling aircraft doors.   The project also included a high end waiting and lobby space for clients which included office spaces, a kitchen, and break rooms for Rectrix employees that totaled about 4,200 sf, as well as a 2,200 sf storage area.  The project was built to the highest standards for clientele that rented or had their private planes serviced by the operation.

Madigan was hired by Ross Aviation, after they purchased Rectrix, to install a new fuel farm on airport property.  This project involved the demolition of significant abandoned utilities, the construction of a 4,700 sf structural concrete slab to hold (3) 20,000 gallon jet fuel tanks, (1) 10,000 gallon avgas tank, and (1) 1,000 gallon diesel/automotive gas tank, and related piping.  We were responsible for all sitework, structural, electrical, and finish work, and helped coordinate the tank work.  This work all occurred within airport property, and during construction we discovered unsuitable soil that was contaminated with fuel that we worked with Massport to coordinate and dispose of.
